What Kind of Adjuster Do You Need? 

There are three types of adjusters: 

• Public Adjusters work for and represent your interests as the policyholder and hold the insurance company accountable for a successful claim settlement when you have damage to your property. 
• Insurance Adjusters, also known as field adjusters, work on behalf of insurance companies, not the policyholder and can either be in-house or a third-party contractor. 
• Independent adjusters work for third-party adjusting firms and are hired by insurance companies who work solely for and represent insurance companies. 

An insurance adjuster and an independent adjuster represent the interests of the insurance company, not the policyholder.
